SLASH Discusses GUNS N' ROSES, Collaboration With FERGIE

Julian Marszalek of AOL's Spinner recently conducted an interview with legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES). You can now watch the chat below.

Slash has opened up in an interview with ARTISTdirect about his new film production company, Slasher Films, through which the legendary guitarist will produce horror films. Although a press release was issued about the new venture last year, Slash has not spoken publicly about it until now. He explained, "I'm friends with Rob Eric, one of the guys at Scout Productions — the production company responsible for 'Transsiberian', 'Session 9', and a bunch of other really cool movies. He and I were sitting around one night talking about horror movies . . . He called me up the next morning and goes, 'We should do something like Slasher Films. You can look at the scripts and produce movies with your own label and we'll fund it.' I was like, 'Okay! It sounds awesome.'"

Slash, who says he is a huge horror film fan, estimates that the company will produce two to three movies a year.

He said the films will be "really high quality, very character-driven, and insanely scary horror movies. They're not going to be scary in the sense that you're waiting for a monster to come out and cut off someone's arm. They're going to be psychologically scary and intense. They'll hearken back to those great movies of the '60s and '70s and even way before that."

The first film under the Slasher banner, tentatively titled "Nothing To Fear", has yet to surface. Slash told ARTISTdirect that the company has interest from other studios and production companies.

Scout Productions has been behind TV series like "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" as well as film projects.

Slash will head out on tour in January as the opening act for OZZY OSBOURNE and is also getting back to work with VELVET REVOLVER.
