SLASH Interviewed On 'Gonzo' (Video)

November 23, 2010

Legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES) was interviewed last week on the MTV U.K. show "Gonzo" with host Alexa Chung. You can now watch the chat in two parts below.

ALTER BRIDGE frontman Myles Kennedy will be the sole vocalist on Slash's next solo album, according to SundayMercury.net. Kennedy appeared as one of many guest singers on Slash's solo debut, and has also served as the vocalist in his touring band. Slash did not offer up any details on the disc, such as when he intends to record it. His first solo offering arrived last April.

He also told BostonHerald.com that he had no desire to lure Kennedy into singing for VELVET REVOLVER, explaining, "(Myles) is still committed to ALTER BRIDGE. I don't want to be the guy responsible for breaking up a band. But we'll find someone. Maybe not somebody known, but some kind of local hero."

VELVET REVOLVER has been without a singer since dismissing Scott Weiland in April 2008. Kennedy was actually approached to sing with the band in its early days, before Weiland came aboard.

Slash also told SundayMercury.net that he plans to work again with BLACK EYED PEAS singer Fergie after collaborating with her on the song "Beautiful Dangerous". He said, "We're going to work together again. There was another song we cut during the sessions for the album, and she liked it so much that she plans to use it on a solo album of her own. It's going to be a real rock and roll album, and I'll be delighted to play on it."
