SLASH Launches SLASHER FILMS Production Company

October 6, 2010

According to Deadline.com, legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES) is launching his own production company. In association with Scout Productions (the company behind films like "Transsiberian" and "Fog of War"),Slash has set up the aptly named Slasher Films banner to produce edgy contemporary horror fare with a nod to the thrillers of the '70s and '80s. Their first project is "Nothing to Fear", a horror/thriller following a family as it looks for a big change by moving to a small town in rural Kansas only to encounter an ancient demon with an insatiable blood lust. Jonathan W.C. Mills wrote the screenplay for the film, which should begin shooting early next year.

Said Slash in a statement, "I've always been a huge horror fan and creating films that take you back to the days where horror movies actually scared the hell out of you is something I've always wanted to do. My audience is made up of young, edgy, discerning consumers, with an appetite for quality and a hint of anarchy."
