SLASH To Appear At BOOK EXPO AMERICA In Los Angeles
May 29, 2008VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash will appear at the Book Expo America in Los Angeles on Friday, May 30 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Los Angeles Convention Center at Real Deal Media (Booth #3130). Slash will be signing copies of the book "Reckless Road: Guns N' Roses & The Making Of Appetite For Destruction" which was written by Marc Canter, the owner/manager of the legendary rock 'n' roll hangout Canter's Deli in Los Angeles.
Marc has been friends with Slash since the fifth grade when Slash allegedly tried to steal Marc's bike. Canter has photographed and recorded (audio and video) every performance that GUNS N' ROSES played on the Sunset Strip in the group's early days from their first show on June 6, 1985, to their first intentional tour in 1987 as the "newly" signed act for Geffen Records.
"Reckless Road" contains interviews with Slash, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler, as well as groupies, failed producers, and former managers and bandmates. Canter amassed a treasure trove of memorabilia, including:
* Lyrics to "My Michelle", written on the back of a water-stained flier
* A $37,500 advance check from Geffen that has Slash's name misspelled as "Stash"
* 1,000 never-before-seen photos
* Audio/video recordings for the bands first 50 shows

Erin Broadley from SuicideGirls.com sat down with Slash and Marc Canter earlier in the year at Canter's Deli in Hollywood to talk about Canter's new book. A couple of video clips from the first-ever joint interview the two have ever done can be viewed below.
