SLASH To Perform At 'Heroes Red, White & Blue Inaugural Ball'

January 20, 2009

Former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash is among the artists who will perform at the 2009 Heroes Red, White & Blue Inaugural Ball on Tuesday, January 20 at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. The concert — "Legends Past, Present and Future" — brings together multi-generational music icons to honor wounded servicemen and women recently returned from Iraq and Afghanistan, their families, active-duty personnel serving overseas, military leaders and other honored guests. The event will benefit USO and TAPS and will be broadcast in its entirety to military bases around the world via the Pentagon Channel.

"It shows just how much they care, that these music giants want to spend the night of the inauguration honoring the service and sacrifice of our troops and their families," said Grammy Award-winning producer Nile Rodgers, executive producer of the Heroes Ball tribute concert. "It's a beautiful thing."

Also scheduled to appear are ANITA BAKER, JOSH GROBAN, NAS and CHIC, among others.
