SLAYER: Footage Of India Press Conference Available

October 19, 2012

Thrash legends SLAYER will make their first-ever appearance in India late Saturday at the Vladivar Rock 'N India event in Bangalore.

United Spirits of liquor baron Vijay Mallya is the producer of the premium dual-flavored Vladivar vodka, which is also the second-largest selling vodka brand in Britain.

"We are excited to perform in India for the first time. We are sure that it will be a lifetime experience for us to perform in front of a passionate crowd," guitarist Kerry King told reporters Friday at a press conference, according to NewsTrackIndia.com.

King, Chilean-born bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and drummer Dave Lombardo will once again be joined by EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt, who has been filling in for SLAYER guitarist Jeff Hanneman for nearly two years while recovers from contracting necrotizing fasciitis, likely caused by a spider bite, in January 2011.

"We are expecting about 10,000 fans to rock with the band, which will play some of its best lyrics that made SLAYER the most sought after by metal fans the world over," United Spirits vice-president William Devadass said.
