SLAYER Talks About 'World Painted Blood' Title Track; Video Available

October 15, 2009

Video footage of Californian thrashers SLAYER talking about the title track of their upcoming album, "World Painted Blood", can be viewed below (courtesy of AOL's Noisecreep).

According to frontman Tom Araya, he had "lyric ideas for a song ... not necessarily that song, but I had ideas for a song, and Jeff [Hanneman, guitar] ... I presented them to Jeff, to see if he could use them and he used them."

When drummer Dave Lombardo first heard what Hanneman had written, he was both excited and intimidated. "That drum pattern, when I heard it, I go, 'Jeff, what are you going to do ... you're going to kill me, by me having to perform this drum beat.' I thought it was going to be difficult, but it ended up being fairly easy."

The official CD-release and listening party for "World Painted Blood" will be held on Friday, October 30 at Duff's Brooklyn in Williamsburg, New York beginning at 9:00 p.m. Free "World Painted Blood" merchandise and autographed copies of the best-selling Decibel magazine to date — the SLAYER issue — will be given away at the 21-and-over event, for which there is no cover.

The "Deluxe Edition" will include the "World Painted Blood" CD, the "Playing With Dolls" DVD, a 20-minute animated graphic novel featuring music from the album (including part of a new non-album song),and an expanded booklet.
