SLIPKNOT Frontman Records Song With DAVE GROHL, BUTCH VIG

January 18, 2012

SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor is the latest rocker to collaborate with Dave Grohl on an as-yet-undisclosed new project. Taylor tweeted his excitement last night, writing, "HUGE checks off the Bucket List today — did a song with Dave Grohl and Butch Vig. Do the words 'holy shit' say enough about it?!?"

RATT vocalist Stephen Pearcy and lead guitarist Warren DeMartini recently also revealed plans to record a song for the project headed up by the former NIRVANA drummer and current FOO FIGHTERS frontman. Pearcy stated, "Warren and I are recording an original song for a project for Dave. He's way cool and we're ready to go. . . We'll let [Dave] tell you about when he's ready, kidz. [It's not a track] for a RATT record."

Butch Vig produced NIRVANA's landmark 1991 album "Nevermind", on which Grohl made his debut with that group. Vig also helmed the latest FOO FIGHTERS album, "Wasting Light".

In a 2006 interview, Corey was asked which other musical figures he identified with. "I probably identify the most with people like Dave Grohl, who is such a cool dude, so down to earth and probably one of the funniest cats on the planet," Taylor said. "He's just so approachable and yet has done so much. I really, really dig that."
