SLIPKNOT Frontman's PAUL GRAY Tattoo Unveiled; Video Footage, Photos Available
June 9, 2011SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor will appear on this week's episode of reality series "NY Ink". Taylor will be seen weeping as he gets a tattoo in tribute to late SLIPKNOT bassist Paul Gray. The program will air tonight (Thursday, June 9) at 10:00 p.m. ET on the TLC cable network.
A clip from the episode and several photos can be viewed below.
Gray passed away in May 2010 from an accidental overdose of drugs, leaving behind his wife Brenna and daughter October, who was born the following August. Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio recently that he is still dealing with different emotions about his late bandmate. "I don't get mad at him as much as I'm sad for him, because obviously I'm watching October get bigger and she's lovely and she is her father's daughter very much so. I haven't really had a chance to kind of deal with the anger yet."
TV Guide says that "NY Ink" follows "Miami Ink"'s Ami James as he opens a tattoo shop in New York City.
SLIPKNOT will make a number of festival appearances this summer, their first live shows since Gray's death. Playing bass will be Donnie Steele, a former SLIPKNOT guitarist from the group's early days, although he will apparently be hidden from the audience's view.
Taylor has expressed doubts about making another SLIPKNOT record without Gray, although other band members have expressed their desire to record again.
