SLIPKNOT: Guitar Once Owned By JIM ROOT Being Auctioned
January 26, 2007A guitar once owned by Jim Root of SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR is being auctioned via eBay at this location. According to the seller, "The guitar is a Maverick JR4 signature model. I know that they have produced a few of these but this is the ORIGINAL built for the man himself. It also includes a velvet lined custom hard flight case with three clasps and key opening. The guitar has fully active EMG pickups and the sustain is amazing. As I don't play guitar myself I am told that the neck is very fast and the action is also incredible. It also has one volume pot and a three way selector switch. As this was the original guitar it has no serial number. On the neck of the guitar written into the wood it states that the guitar was 'Built for Jim Root on 21/02/03' it also has the signiture of the man who built it. This has only ever been used once to my knowledge by Jim when he was showing it to me so is being sold used but is as new."
As previously reported, video interviews with STONE SOUR members Jim Root and Roy Mayorga (drums),conducted recently by Holland's FaceCulture, have been posted online at this location.
STONE SOUR will headline the spring 2007 edition of the Jägermeister Music Tour, with LACUNA COIL and SHADOWS FALL along as support. The tour will begin on March 23 in St. Paul, Minnesota. STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor said in a statement, "This has been something we have been looking forward to for a very long time. Having done this tour before, I can honestly say it's like nothing I've ever experienced. It's our time, and we're coming for you."
STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor told MTV.com that he wants the band to stay on the road for all of 2007, meaning that he and Root won't return to their other group, SLIPKNOT, until 2008.
STONE SOUR's sophomore effort, "Come What(ever) May", arrived in stores last August and has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments in excess of 500,000 copies.
