SLIPKNOT Launches Media Sharing Community

September 12, 2006

SLIPKNOT's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"You guys have been sending us the craziest sh*t for the longest time. We want to give you the chance to share that sh*t with the world! This page is a new network put together by the folks at QiShare. You guys will be able to create and share all kinds of SLIPKNOT stuff from banners to videos to wallpapers.

To make this a little more interesting, when you upload content or share it with your friends using our special HTML script, youll get points you can redeem on SLIPKNOT stuff like tickets, merch and other exclusives. Check it out here."

SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan is currently editing the group's new DVD, tentatively due in late 2006/early 2007.

"It's coming along," he wrote in an online posting last month. "It's very time-consuming. As usual, we have tons of great footage to choose from. The DVD could probably be 10 hours long if we wanted it to be at this point.

"I personally am enjoying the process because it's a great feeling to reflect on our past achievements (and disasters). So, in short, I've been enjoying the entire 'Subliminal' concept — from writing, to practicing, to recording, to playing live — all in my head at once visually and audibly. We can't wait to share it with all of you."

Regarding the follow-up to 2002's "Disasterpieces", guitarist Mick Thomson recently told Billboard.com, '[it is] going to be different than our last one. Our last one mostly focused on the concert, and this one is going to have a lot more personal stuff on it. You get to see more stupid sh*t [laughs]. There'll be some music and stuff, but you're getting to see what our days our like. It should be a lot more fun."
