SLIPKNOT Receive TOAZTED Award For 'Most Downloaded Artist'

December 21, 2005

Toazted.com, the web site that claims to have the world's largest collection of MP3 interviews online, has named SLIPKNOT "the most downloaded artist of 2005."

Over a 100,000 fans downloaded the "Subliminal Verses" interview to hear frontman Corey Taylor talk about their sold-out tour and the upcoming recording of Taylor's acclaimed side project STONE SOUR.

SLIPKNOT received Toazted.com honors in two categories: "Most Popular Heavy Metal Band of 2005", ahead of RAMMSTEIN, SYSTEM OF A DOWN and METALLICA; and "Most Popular Act of 2005," where they beat such acts as COLDPLAY, GREEN DAY and FRANZ FERDINAND.

Toazted.com has a huge archive with a wide variety of interviews in MP3 format. This is the first year that they are honoring the winners with the Toazted Award. The "Most Wanted" Award was presented to Corey Taylor in New York City at the Nokia theatre on December 15.
