SMASHING PUMPKINS: Bonus Tracks Included With Album At Major Chains

Launch Radio Networks reports: The new SMASHING PUMPKINS album, "Zeitgeist", will come complete with bonus tracks — if you buy it at either a Best Buy or Target outlet. The Best Buy version of the 12-song CD will contain a tune called "Death From Above", while anyone who purchases the disc at Target will also get the record's title track. There's no word on what, if anything, independent record stores will get with their copies of "Zeitgeist", which arrives on July 10.

"Tarantula" is the first single from "Zeitgeist", although the album's opening cut, "Doomsday Clock", has also surfaced online.

The PUMPKINS will perform on CBS-TV's "Late Show with David Letterman" on Monday, July 9 and Friday, July 13. Those appearances will follow the band's participation in the New Jersey Live Earth concert on July 7.

The group will begin a nine-show residency at the Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina on Saturday (June 23),with an 11-show stand scheduled for late next month in San Francisco.
