SMASHING PUMPKINS To Perform At 'Scream 2008'

According to The Pulse of Radio, the SMASHING PUMPKINS will perform their new single, "G.L.O.W.", this Saturday (October 18) at the taping of "Scream 2008", the Spike TV cable channel's third annual event commemorating the year's best in horror, science fiction and fantasy. The show will be taped at the Greek Theatre in Hollywood and premiere on Spike on Tuesday (October 21) at 9 p.m. ET. "G.L.O.W." which was the most added track at Modern Rock radio last week, will appear on the upcoming Guitar Hero: World Tour video game. It's the first song ever written specifically for Guitar Hero.

Also performing at the event will be pop singer Kerli. Celebrities scheduled to appear include Rob Zombie, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE singer Gerard Way, "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau, the Osbourne family, actor Seth Rogen, director Kevin Smith, the cast of "Dexter" and others.

Actor Anthony Hopkins, director Wes Craven and filmmaker Tim Burton will be honored with special awards at the event.

Meanwhile, the PUMPKINS will perform at Neil Young's annual Bridge School Benefit on October 26 in Mountain View, California before beginning their 20th anniversary tour on October 31 in Columbus, Ohio.

The band will issue a documentary and concert DVD called "If It All Goes Wrong" on November 11.
