SOCIETY 1 Begins Recording New Album

June 10, 2008

After three years of talking about it, Matt Zane and SOCIETY 1 have finally entered NRG Studios to begin recording their new album, "Sadist Messiah". Wade Norton is behind the soundboard again for the band's fourth studio album.

"It feels great to be back in NRG Studios and working with Wade Norton," stated Zane. "I figured it was about time to get 'Sadist Messiah' started. There has been a lot of road blocks and drama these past few years with ex-members, agents and labels but everything seems to be worked out at the moment. The material is very strong and I am excited to finally get things moving once again."

SOCIETY 1 is:

Sick Rick - drums
Dirt - bass
Matt "The Lord" Zane - vocals, guitars, programming

"Saddist Messiah" is expected to be released in 2009.

Check out video footage from the recording studio below.

SOCIETY 1 will release its first live album, "Live and Raw", on June 16 via MDI.

"People have told us for years that we sound so different live than on our records" stated Matt Zane. "A lot of people would come up to us after a show and say they were never really into us until they saw us live. So we thought why not get a live record out there and let people hear the difference."

"Live and Raw" will be distributed solely through iTunes.

"We have been talking about the new SOCIETY 1 record, 'Sadist Messiah', now since 2006 but we are going to hold off on that until next year," said Zane. "We wanted to release something through MDI first and only have it be available digitally. This is going to be something of a test run and depending how it turns out will influence our decision to regarding the release of our next studio album."

Although no physical product will be made available in stores, any remaining promo copies of "Live and Raw" will be autographed and sold through www.Society1.net.

"We figure we might have a few hundred extra after sending review copies to press so we will autograph those and sell them but besides that 'Live and Raw' will only be made available through iTunes," said Zane.
