SOILWORK Checks In From The Road

February 6, 2009

Swedish metallers SOILWORK kicked off their North American tour with DARKANE, WARBRINGER and SWALLOW THE SUN on January 30 in Rochester, New York. (Note: DAYLIGHT DIES appears on the first 10 shows instead of WARBRINGER.)

SOILWORK has checked in with the following update from the road:

"We're currently cruisin' on the East Coast enjoying the warmer weather in Florida. It's nothing but great fun playing with our fellow Helsingborg thrashers DARKANE, even though 15 people make for a tightly packed tour bus. But never mind the crammed Prevost! We're on fire every night, and together with DAYLIGHT DIES and SWALLOW THE SUN, this has to be one of the most lethal melodic metal packages ever to plough through the U.S. and Canada!

"It's been a blast performing this special fan-picked setlist, especially some rarely or never-before-played tracks like 'Shadowchild' and 'Song Of The Damned'."

"20 More Miles", the new video from SOILWORK, can be viewed below. The clip was shot during the band's European tour, including at the Electric Weekend festival in Madrid, where SOILWORK performed with METALLICA. It contains footage provided by the band as well as material that was filmed by Olle Carlsson.

Listenable Records has announced plans to re-release the classic first albums from SOILWORK. "Steelbath Suicide" (1998) and "The Chainheart Machine" (1999) will be reissued in deluxe super jewelcases with revamped artwork and contain various bonus tracks. Out of print for a while, these re-releases are a "must-have for any SOILWORK fan who missed the originals while the various bonus materials make it worth for die-hard fans to get these gems again," the label says in a press release.

SOILWORK was rejoined by guitarist Peter Wichers last year.
