SOILWORK Frontman Explains AGGRESSIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL Cancellation

July 14, 2005

SOILWORK vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"Maybe some of you guys have seen on Blabbermouth that we've cancelled the show on 'Aggressive Music Festival' in Glen Falls, NY. It came to our knowledge yesterday that our drummer Dirk Verbeuren can't make it to the show since he's playing a festival in Finland (Tuska Open Air) with his other band SCARVE and somehow his flight got cancelled and there was no other flights available that day … This really sucks and we really want to appologize for this, especially for such short notice..

"Mr. David Witte (ex-BURNT BY THE SUN etc.) will fill in for Dirk on the first show on Ozzfest. We're rehearsing right now and he's really doing an awesome job…

"We'll see you in Boston on Friday!!"

As previously reported, New Jersey's GOD FORBID will be taking the place of SOILWORK at the second annual Aggressive Music Festival, set to take place on Saturday, July 16 at the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glen Falls, NY.

SOILWORK are currently promoting their latest CD, "Stabbing the Drama", available now on Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Figure Number Five" was recorded at Fascination Street studios in Örebro and Dug-Out Productions in Uppsala, Sweden with producer Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, STUCK MOJO).
