SOULDRAINER Parts Ways With Singer

June 13, 2007

Östersund, Sweden-based death metallers SOULDRAINER have parted ways with vocalist Johan Klitkou. His official statement on the matter reads as follows:

"I've been rocking for as long as I can remember, but the last few years served as a turning point for both my private life and musical determination. The journey I had chosen to take altered my priorities and thus, at this point in time, I feel that I am unable to give my all to the band SOULDRAINER.

"It is therefore with lots of fond memories that I have decided to make way for fresh blood, now that SOULDRAINER stands proud on the path to bigger and greater things.

"There is no doubt in my mind that SOULDRAINER will succeed; with the overwhelming amount of talent the members have between them, there is no room for anything but grand accomplishments.

"I take great pride and consider my self fortunate to have been a part of SOULDRAINER for the past 10-somewhat years, an experience I will carry with me for the rest of my life, and bid adieu to all of you fans out there — thank you for your loyalty and great taste in music. SOULDRAINER, I will be watching you from the 'first row in hell!'"

SOULDRAINER released its debut album, "Reborn", on May 18 via Holland's Holland's Mascot Records. The CD was recorded by SOULDRAINER and Marcus Edvardsson at Manic Motion Studio and was mixed and mastered by Marcus Edvardsson. The layout and artwork was handled by Daniel Dlimi. The title track, "Reborn", is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.
