SOULFLY Mainman Records New Collaboration With APOCALYPTICA
April 3, 2006SOULFLY's web site has been updated with the following message:
"Well, the European tour concluded last week, and with that said, what's up for SOULFLY next? More touring, of course! But until that resumes, in North America near the end of April, here's a recap of the things that happened on the recent massive club tour the guys did of all of Europe. The tour was a huge success, with nearly every show selling out. On this run, SOULFLY also made their first stops in the countries of Ireland, North Ireland, and Turkey. Additionally, SOULFLY held three in-stores in France, and literally got bum-rushed by the fans. Marc Rizzo [guitar] also held two successful in-stores in Spain, fueled by the the critical hype surrounding his solo release, and both occasions included a short solo acoustic set by Marc.
"In Prague, Max's [Cavalera, guitar/vocals] [step-]son Richie, frontman of Arizona-based band INCITE, fell on stage during the song 'Bleed' and had to be taken to the hospital for a knee injury — after finishing the song, of course. He received some stiches, and was back touring with the guys in a matter of days with the help of a cane.
"In Germany, Max traveled to Germany to record a track for the upcoming release by Finland's APOCALYPTICA. APOCALYPTICA, a band also known for touring extensively in third world, eastern European, and Asian countries, originally worked with Max ten years ago, when they covered the SEPULTURA song 'Roots'. APOCALYPTICA has also covered other SEPULTURA songs such as 'Refuse/Resist' and 'Inquisition Symphony'. The have only toured the U.S. briefly in the past, but they are expected to tour North America following the release of their album at the end of the year.
"And finally, and most importantly, after finishing a brief North American tour, SOULFLY will be heading to Europe to participate in many summer festivals in June. Some festivals confirmed so far include Download, Rock am Ring, Rock am Park, Pinkpop, Gods of Metal, and several others. They will also be supporting KORN on a tour through countries such as Switzerland, France, and Austria. Exact dates for these performances are still forthcoming."
SOULFLY are continuing to tour in support of their latest album, "Dark Ages", available now on Roadrunner Records. The follow-up to 2004's "Prophecy" was produced by SOULFLY mainman Max Cavalera and was mixed by Terry Date, who has previously worked with PANTERA and DEFTONES, among others.
