SOUNDSCAN Report: SLIPKNOT, OZZY OSBOURNE, DEEP PURPLE
November 9, 2005SLIPKNOT's first full-length concert album, "9.0 Live", has sold just over 42,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 17 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart. Meanwhile, OZZY OSBOURNE's new collection, "Under Cover", shifted just under 9,000 copies to land at No. 134 — a surprisingly low number considering that the set includes newly completed covers of JOHN LENNON's "Woman", JOE WALSH's "Rocky Mountain Way" and the MOODY BLUES' "Go Now" (along with 10 other cuts that were released earlier this year on the "Under Covers" disc of the OZZY boxed set "Prince of Darkness"). Even more disappointing is the first-week number for DEEP PURPLE's "Rapture of the Deep", which registered a first-week tally of around 2,500 despite several months of pre-release hype.
