September 8, 2026

SPIRITBOX has surprise-released a new single, "Mourning". The official music video for the track, directed by SPIRITBOX guitarist Mike Stringer and Alex Bemis, can be seen below.

"Mourning" was co-produced by Stringer alongside longtime collaborator Dan Braunstein, who has previously worked with DAYSEEKER and FIT FOR A KING, among others.

"Mourning"'s release less than a week before the launch of SPIRITBOX's European headlining tour with support from JINJER and DYING WISH. The trek will kick off on Saturday, September 12 in Glasgow, United Kingdom and conclude on October 9 in Paris, France.

Later this fall, SPIRITBOX will support METALLICA at an intimate show at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut on November 21 before playing three Australian dates as part of the Good Things festival from December 4 to 6.

SPIRITBOX's ascent has been built on a constant drive to push genre boundaries without compromising their metal roots. Anchored by big riffs, explosive dynamics, and pulsating rhythms, their sound is elevated by the soaring vocal power and commanding presence of Courtney LaPlante (vocals),alongside Mike Stringer (guitar),Zev Rose (drums) and Josh Gilbert (bass).

They also possess a fearless crossover vision, as demonstrated through their bold collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, which saw SPIRITBOX challenge expectations and expand the boundaries of heavy music.

LaPlante's voice brings the intense emotional core of SPIRITBOX's music to life, exploring themes ranging from mental health and identity to loss and resilience. Beyond her vocal performance, her leadership is defined by clarity and intention, leading by example to champion greater visibility, equality, and opportunity for women and underrepresented communities within the creative world.

The band has been impactful from the get-go. Both their debut album "Eternal Blue" and last year's "Tsunami Sea" hit the U.K. Top 20, while the latter fired to No. 1 on Billboard's Top Hard Rock Albums. Internationally, "Tsunami Sea", released by Pale Chord/Rise Records, debuted at No. 1 on U.K. Independent Albums, No. 3 on U.K. Rock & Metal Albums and No. 8 in Scotland. Furthermore, the 11-song set came in at No. 12 in Germany, No. 17 on the official U.K. chart, No. 21 in Switzerland, No. 34 in Australia, No. 36 in New Zealand, No. 39 in Finland, No. 59 in Belgium, No. 75 in Japan, and No. 83 in the Netherlands.

Earlier this year, SPIRITBOX supported EVANESCENCE on a tour across North America.
