SPLATTERED MERMAIDS Begins Recording New Album

January 8, 2008

SPLATTERED MERMAIDS, the Swedish death/grind band featuring members of DERANGED and VISCERAL BLEEDING, has issued the following update:

"Finally, we entered the studio last week (January 2-5) in the south of Sweden... The recording of our new full-length album, 'Stench of Flesh', is done. It took us four days of hard and intense work to record our most brutal album ever. Now we will mix all tracks, the artwork is sick and almost done! Within 2-3 weeks we will send all stuff to our record label for pressing. 10 tracks in total, including one instrumental track and a re-recorded version of our old song 'By My Blade'. Prepare for fucking terror!!!! Release date is set to late February/early March 2008 [via the Czech gore-grind label Bizarre Leprous Productions]."

According to a press release, the CD "will be brutal as hell" featuring "straight-forward deathgrind combined with groovy breakdowns and guttural vocals... the band's most brutal album to date!!" Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Gruesome", "Circular Holes in the Cranial Structure", "Corporal Manifestation", "Spliced Spleen Spices", "Throat Unsafe from a Pair of Scissors", "By My Blade" (re-butchered version) and "Stench of Flesh".
