STAIND Shows Signs Of Progress With New Single

December 17, 2008

STAIND will perform its new single, called "All I Want", on Wednesday night's (December 17) edition of NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno". The song is taken from the band's sixth studio album, "The Illusion of Progress". Although it's now the latest radio track from the group, singer Aaron Lewis told The Pulse of Radio that even while the band was writing the song, they had their doubts about it. "We finally kind of all played it through together and at the end of the song, we all kind of looked at each other and we were kind of like, 'Man, it's a little bit poppier than we would normally, you know, write,'" he said. "So, you know, we contemplated whether we were even gonna continue with it as an idea, and when it was finished, nobody could really deny the fact that it was a really good, catchy song."

STAIND has also issued a video for "All I Want" (see below).

Although the band has yet to announce new U.S. dates for 2009, STAIND will head to Europe early in the year before going to Afghanistan and Iraq for two weeks to perform for U.S. troops.

Lewis will also head out on his annual solo acoustic tour in the first two weeks of January, mostly performing at casinos. He plans to record his debut solo album in April and May of 2009, when he has set some time aside from the band's schedule to get into the studio by himself.
