STARRATS: Studio Update
November 5, 2004Danish rockers STARRATS are in the process of recording guitars for their second album, tentatively titled "Salami Monkey Ape". The music and production will reportedly follow a "heavier and more aggresive" direction than was the case on the group's debut CD, "Broken Halo" (released this fall via Adrenaline Records in Europe and Perris Records in the USA). Sixteen drum tracks have already been laid down and the band hope to be finished in the beginning of the New Year.
STARRATS, who feature in their ranks former members of such acts as PUSH, FURY and THE BLACK ROSE, describe their sound as a mixture of "the great melody, feel and musicianship of the '70s and '80s" and "the rough sound and aggression of the present rock/metal scene." Influences range from WHITESNAKE, DEEP PURPLE and JUDAS PRIEST to SOCIAL DISTORTION, THE CULT and PAPA ROACH.
