STATETROOPER Sign Japanese Record Deal

January 20, 2005

STATETROOPER, the reunited British hard rock outfit fronted by former MSG (MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP) singer Gary Barden, have signed a Japanese record deal with Toshiba-EMI. "The deal will see the release of their new album, 'The Calling' released across Japan," reads a posting on the group's web site. "This is a prestigious deal, and will see singer Gary Barden once more returning to the territory with big memories for him. Gary is known for performing on some of the biggest selling albums in Japan, including MSG's 'Live at the Budokan'. The critics have loved 'The Calling', calling it the one of the best rock albums of 2004. To capitalise on this, and the signing of this deal, STATETROOPER will be embarking on a world tour in 2005. The dates of this tour will be announced shortly."
