'STEVEN TYLER' Interviewed On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'; Video Available

August 7, 2009

Someone claiming to be AEROSMITH frontman Steven Tyler was "interviewed" on last night's (August 6) episode of ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" live via satellite from the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota. Watch the brief chat below.

AEROSMITH has postponed tonight's (Friday, August 8) concert in Winnipeg following Tyler's fall from the stage at the Buffalo Chip Campground in Sturgis, South Dakota Wednesday. According to eyewitnesses, the sound system failed while the group was playing "Love In An Elevator", leading Tyler to try and entertain the crowd by dancing. The 61-year-old vocalist instead fell backward off the edge of the stage and was helped backstage, where he was reportedly evaluated by medical personnel before being taken to a local hospital.

The Associated Press reported that Tyler was in good spirits while being taken to the hospital, where he was treated for minor head, neck and shoulder injuries.

Seven shows earlier in the tour had to be postponed after Tyler tore a muscle in his leg.

The trek seems to have been cursed from the start, with guitarist Brad Whitford missing the first few weeks due to a head injury. More recently, bassist Tom Hamilton has come off the road for undisclosed surgery. Hamilton beat throat cancer a few years back.

The Sturgis show was part of the area's annual Bike Rally, which usually hosts big-name performers every year like GODSMACK and KID ROCK.
