STONE SOUR: 'Digital (Did You Tell)' Drum-Cam Footage Posted Online
November 6, 2010Drum-cam footage of STONE SOUR's Roy Mayorga playing the song "Digital (Did You Tell)" during this past summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar tour can be viewed below.
Commented Mayorga: "This video was made by Arejay Hale (drummer for HALESTORM). I thought this was so cool that he took the time and went out of his way to make this. I had no idea he was behind me filming this show until a few days ago.
"This was from the Uproar tour we did together over the summer.
"Arejay, you sneaky bastard, I love you.
"Anyway, you hear the original studio track in and out of this video though Arejay did his best to sync it up for reference... kind of a rough process to do, only because we play the song a bit faster live. But this video will show you exactly how to play the song 'Digital'."
STONE SOUR's "Digital (Did You Tell)" video was directed by Paul R. Brown, who previously worked with the band on the "30/30-150", "Say You'll Haunt Me" and "Hesistate" clips as well as on videos from SLIPKNOT, MÖTLEY CRÜE, KORN, GODSMACK and AVENGED SEVENFOLD, among others. Asked about the track's lyrical content, frontman Corey Taylor said, "It's basically about the isolation of the digital age where more and more people are afraid to come out of their bubble, more and more people are afraid to come out of their cocoon. They'd rather sit in front of an electric screen and pour their hate or pour their emotions anonymously into the world."
"Digital (Did You Tell)" comes off STONE SOUR's third album, "Audio Secrecy", which was released on September 7 and debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard album chart, selling 46,000 copies in its first week of release.
