STONE SOUR Frontman Credits Wife For Support
June 19, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: Between singing for STONE SOUR and SLIPKNOT, not to mention producing other groups and starting his own label, vocalist Corey Taylor doesn't have a lot of free time for a normal family life. But Taylor told Launch that he credits his wife Scarlett for supporting him in everything he does. "My wife is a very, very patient person," he said. "She blows up once in a while, but I mean, she supports me no matter what. You know, everybody says something in the heat of the moment that you don't mean, you know, especially in arguments — especially in a married argument. But I mean, at the end of the day, you know, you apologize and she supports me 110 percent, and that's what matters."
Taylor recently told MTV.com that Scarlett also saw him through a difficult time in his life in which he struggled with alcoholism and even attempted suicide. Taylor explained, "I tried to jump off the balcony of the eighth floor of the Hyatt on Sunset (Boulevard) on November 14, 2003. Somehow she stopped me. It wasn't the first time I tried to kill myself, either." The singer has now been sober for over two years.
STONE SOUR will release its second album, "Come What(ever) May", on August 1. Two singles from the disc are now circulating, "30/30-150" and "Through Glass".
"Come What(ever) May" follows up the Iowa-based band's self-titled 2002 debut, which featured the hit "Bother".
STONE SOUR will join KORN, DEFTONES and FLYLEAF on this summer's Family Values tour, beginning on July 27 in Virginia Beach.
