STONE SOUR Members Answer More Fan-Submitted Questions

May 20, 2010

STONE SOUR is currently in the final stages of completing its third album, "Audio Secrecy", which is due for release this summer via Roadrunner Records.

Lead singer Corey Taylor and drummer Roy Mayorga recently took time out from the recording sessions to answer a few fan-submitted questions.

Tackling a variety of subjects like songwriting, inspiration, crowd reactions and even hairstyles, find out why Corey says, "It all comes down to where the music takes me" and why Roy contends "it goes both ways" by watching the video below.

Taylor tells The Pulse of Radio that the follow-up to 2006's "Come What(ever) May" is a major musical step forward for the group. "This is the culmination of all the confidence that we gained on 'Come What(ever) May' and, you know, just the fact that for the first time in a long time, this band has all contributed to everything that we've got, with all five band members writing and just all the cylinders firing at once, man," he says. "It's incredible. I can't tell you how proud I am of everything we've got right now."

Taylor admits he hasn't had the best track record with relationships. He says that the theme of much of "Audio Secrecy" is knowing when a relationship has gone bad and it's time to get out. "At the end of the day, it's really about having the strength to do what's right for you in your heart, and not just give in and hope that things could be okay," he tells The Pulse of Radio. "You have to know yourself enough to be able to turn away from a situation and go, 'You know what? This is gonna hurt for a long time, but I'm gonna be okay. If I stay here, it's gonna be more painful than I could ever imagine.'"

HardDrive Radio exclusively revealed some of the CD's song titles on Tuesday (May 18),including the first two releases to radio, "Mission Statement" and "Hesitate".

STONE SOUR has been recording "Audio Secrecy" for the past two months at Blackbird Studios in Nashville.

Taylor recently posted a message online asking people to help out with donations for flood relief in Nashville. Torrential rains earlier this month caused massive flooding in the city and surrounding areas, damaging many Music City landmarks.

"Come What(ever) May" debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard album chart and included the hits "Through Glass", "Sillyworld" and "Made Of Scars".

The new disc will arrive just as STONE SOUR embarks on the inaugural Uproar Festival tour with AVENGED SEVENFOLD and DISTURBED. The trek kicks off on August 17 in Minneapolis and will hit 36 cities.
