STONE SOUR: New Song To Be Made Available For Free Download
June 4, 2010"Mission Statement", the blistering new track from the long-awaited third album from STONE SOUR, "Audio Secrecy", will be made available for free download on June 10 at 11 a.m. EST on StoneSour.com for only 48 hours.
"Audio Secrecy" is scheduled for release on September 7 via Roadrunner Records.
STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor recently told The Pulse of Radio that the follow-up to 2006's "Come What(ever) May" is a major musical step forward for the group. "This is the culmination of all the confidence that we gained on 'Come What(ever) May' and, you know, just the fact that for the first time in a long time, this band has all contributed to everything that we've got, with all five band members writing and just all the cylinders firing at once, man," he said. "It's incredible. I can't tell you how proud I am of everything we've got right now."
Taylor admitted he hasn't had the best track record with relationships. He said that the theme of much of "Audio Secrecy" is knowing when a relationship has gone bad and it's time to get out. "At the end of the day, it's really about having the strength to do what's right for you in your heart, and not just give in and hope that things could be okay," he told The Pulse of Radio. "You have to know yourself enough to be able to turn away from a situation and go, 'You know what? This is gonna hurt for a long time, but I'm gonna be okay. If I stay here, it's gonna be more painful than I could ever imagine.'"
"Come What(ever) May" debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard album chart and included the hits "Through Glass", "Sillyworld" and "Made Of Scars".
The new disc will arrive just as STONE SOUR embarks on the inaugural Uproar Festival tour with AVENGED SEVENFOLD and DISTURBED. The trek kicks off on August 17 in Minneapolis and will hit 36 cities.
