STONE SOUR Single Hitting Airwaves Next Week
July 1, 2010According to The Pulse of Radio, STONE SOUR releases the first official rock radio single from its new album, "Audio Secrecy", on Tuesday (July 6). The song is titled "Say You'll Haunt Me" and frontman Corey Taylor told The Pulse of Radio that it took him a while to warm up to it during the making of the record. "It was one of those songs that I didn't really feel until it was finished," he said. "I enjoyed the lyrics but I wasn't sure about the music. I'd come in and I'd sang it, and I put my heart into it because the lyrics are about my wife and how I feel about my wife, and then I left. And I came back and they (the band) had just made it incredible. Now I can't get it out of my head."
STONE SOUR has set September 7 as the release date for "Audio Secrecy", which follows up 2006's "Come What(ever) May".
"Come What(ever) May" debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard album chart and included the hits "Through Glass", "Sillyworld" and "Made Of Scars".
The band recently made available a free download of another new song from the disc, called "Mission Statement".
STONE SOUR (Taylor, guitarists James Root and Josh Rand, bassist Shawn Economaki and drummer Roy Mayorga) and producer Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, ALICE IN CHAINS, DEFTONES) recorded "Audio Secrecy" at Blackbird Studios in Nashville during the destructive storms and devastating floods that hit the historic heart of Music City.
The quintet will be previewing select songs from the album during this summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. The 36-date tour launches August 17 in Minneapolis, MN and will visit arenas and amphitheatres across North America before wrapping October 4 in Madison, WI.
STONE SOUR debuted three brand new songs — "Mission Statement", "The Bitter End" and "Digital" — during the band's June 7, 2010 concert at Columbia in Berlin, Germany.
Professionally filmed video footage of STONE SOUR performing a new song, "Mission Statement", at this year's Download festival, which was held June 11-13, 2010 at Donington Park, United Kingdom, can be viewed below.
