STONE SOUR To Release 'Digital' Single In U.K., 'Hesitate' In U.S.

October 22, 2010

Possum of Revolver TV recently conducted an interview with STONE SOUR drummer Roy Mayorga. You can now watch the chat below.

STONE SOUR recently filmed videos for the songs "Digital (Did You Tell)" and "Hesitate" with director Paul R. Brown. Brown previously worked with STONE SOUR on the "30/30-150" and "Say You'll Haunt Me" clips as well as on videos from SLIPKNOT, MÖTLEY CRÜE, KORN, GODSMACK and AVENGED SEVENFOLD, among others.

When asked why STONE SOUR is planning to release a different second single in the U.K. ("Digital (Did You Tell)") than in the U.S. ("Hesitate"),Mayorga replied, "From what I'm gathering, some songs work better in different countries. Like, say, 'Digital' is a heavier kind of tune, so in our genre it works better in the U.K. And a song like 'Hesitate' would work better in the States. They just gauge it off from [how previous singles have performed in] the past."

"Digital (Did You Tell)" and "Hesitate" both come off STONE SOUR's third album, "Audio Secrecy", which was released on September 7 and debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard album chart, selling 46,000 copies in its first week of release.

As STONE SOUR tears through Europe on an international tour, the band's blockbuster single "Say You'll Haunt Me" is dominating the airwaves here at home. The lead single from "Audio Secrecy" has held the No. 1 slot on Billboard's Rock Songs Chart for six straight weeks and counting.

"Hesitate" has already reached No. 11 on the iTunes Rock Singles chart in the U.S. without the benefit of a radio campaign.
