STONER KINGS' STARBUCK Is The 'Other' Professional Wrestler To Front Rock Band
April 7, 2005FOZZY vocalist Chris Jericho isn't the only professional wrestler to front a known rock band. For the few and far between, stemming back to Nasty Ronnie from NASTY SAVAGE in the late '80s (Ronnie worked as a wrestler/manager in the Florida area),add STONER KINGS vocalist Starbuck to that list.
Starbuck faces off against IWS champion El Dinamico this coming Sunday, April 10, at the Mazda Palace in Torino, Italy for the heavyweight title at a supercard dubbed Adrenaline 2005. Also known in European wrestling circles as the "Canadian Rebel", Starbuck is argueably one of the top technical brawlers on the continent currently, finding himself at the top of several pro wrestling cards.
Starbuck has been active in pro wrestling since 1992 when he debuted as an announcer for Rocky Mountain Pro Wrestling out of Calgary, Alberta when Chris Jericho and Lance Storm of WWE fame were starting out.
Starbuck made fast friends with both Storm and Jericho, and Storm offered to train Starbuck at the world-famous Hart Bros. Wrestling School in Calgary in 1993. Since his in-ring wrestling debut against Storm on January 7, 1994 in Calgary, Starbuck has worked for a bevy of independent promotions in his homeland of Canada, USA, U.K. and elsewhere in Europe.
