STRAPPING YOUNG LAD Drummer Checks In From The Road

October 29, 2005

STRAPPING YOUNG LAD drummer Gene Hoglan has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"As you all know, STRAPPING is hittin' the road. Actually, we've hit it. We're in Lawrence, Kansas tonight, as the 'Category 5-Fifteen Years of Fear' shitstorm blows into town. I am gonna do my best to document this fuckfest on as daily a basis as I can. It might not be much, and it DEFINITELY might not be daily, but I'm gonna check in at least a few times a week, weather permitting.

"We flew in last night, insta-bonded with the DARKANE dudes (didja know Swedish people have funny accents? Heehee!),not one, but two bottles of Crown Royal were cracked, MORBID ANGEL was cranked, and the air was guitared, quite expertly by Mr. Jed.

"Not too much else to report at the moment, Raymond from FEAR FACTORY just flew in and is heading straight for a RIB-EATING CONTEST! How cool is that? Peter from DARKANE has to play my kit tonight, poor guy! It's like going from driving a little sports car to driving a big truck! I just showed Burton the video for 'Zen' (as we just finished it),and he instantly proclaimed it the best video he's ever seen! Well, not really, but he dug it. It really turned oot killer! Y'all will dig it, too! It looks like our photo-shoot for 'Alien'. With flames. And shades.

"On this tour, we're gonna have some special stuff happening for our street-teamers, so if yer a part of it, we'll keep ya posted. If yer not, 'Rule #9' from Scotty, our new bus driver's 'List of Bus Rules' is for you. Rule #9; Don't be a jerk. ;-)

"Right on folks, time for a pre-show nap."

STRAPPING YOUNG LAD are continuing to tour in support of their genre-defying breakthrough album, "Alien", which was released earlier in the year via Century Media Records. A European run with MESHUGGAH will follow later in the year.
