STRAPPING YOUNG LAD Wrap Up Successful Headlining U.S. Tour, Guest On 'Headbanger's Ball'

May 26, 2005

Canadian extremists STRAPPING YOUNG LAD recently completed a highly successful headlining U.S. tour with THE AGONY SCENE, MISERY SIGNALS and REFLUX in the support slots and are now preparing for the massive Sounds of The Underground Tour this summer. The group’s genre-defying, breakthrough new album, "Alien", has been met with tons of mainstream acclaim and is already being hailed as the best offering yet.

Devin Townsend (vocals, guitar) will be the featured guest on MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball" this Saturday, May 28. STRAPPING YOUNG LAD's new video for the track "Love?" — shot by acclaimed director Joe Lynch (DEVILDRIVER, KATAKLYSM) — was also recently posted online at this location.

Townsend checks in with the following report: "The first part of our touring cycle is over, so we'd like to thank everyone who came out and for all their support. There are a lot of tours going on now, so we really appreciate it. It was great to play the new material and we feel we did a good job putting it across. I'm heading out this week to do 'Headbanger's Ball', and we're getting ready to do some cool European festivals and play the Sounds Of The Underground tour. Also, ESP guitars have been really great to us; we contributed some tracks to an upcoming MELVINS tribute, and we may be doing another video. Metal's on the rise and keep rockin!"
