STRATOVARIUS Keyboardist To Guest On New AMBERIAN DAWN Album

May 6, 2010

Swedish keyboardist Jens Johansson (STRATOVARIUS, DIO, YNGWIE J. MALMSTEEN) will guest on the new album from Finnish female-fronted symphonic metallers AMBERIAN DAWN. According to the band, the forthcoming CD will feature Jens "playing two keyboard battles with Tuomas Seppälä of AMBERIAN DAWN."

The group adds, "There's going to be electricity on the air when these two gentlemen meet each other on the battlefield of keyboards!"

AMBERIAN DAWN entered the studio on November 23, 2009 in Hyvinkää, Finland to begin recording the new CD for a summer release.

According to the band, "The new album is going to be more diverse, faster and darker than our previous albums. The fastest AMBERIAN DAWN songs to date contrast some extremely slow and heavy songs."

AMBERIAN DAWN last year completed a European tour as the support band for EPICA. Also appearing on the bill was SONS OF SEASONS, the new progressive/symphonic metal band led by keyboardist/guitarist Oliver Palotai (KAMELOT, DORO).

AMBERIAN DAWN's second album, "The Clouds of Northland Thunder" was released in Europe on June 29, 2009 via Ascendance Records.

AMBERIAN DAWN guitarist Tuomas Seppälä, who has played the keyboards in the studio on the band's albums, in 2009 became the group's full-time keyboardist. The new AMBERIAN DAWN axeman is Emil Pohjalainen, who is described as "a talented shredder from Finland."
