STRYPER Bassist Hopes The Holy Spirit Will Be Present At Every Concert On Reunion Tour

August 25, 2003

STRYPER bassist Tim Gaines has posted the following message to his official web site:

"Well, unless you have been living in total seclusion from the outside world, you should know by now that STRYPER is hitting the road in October for our first US Tour in over ten years. I never thought I would see this happen, but it looks like it is finally going to take place. My hope and prayer is that the Lord will use this tour for His glory and not our own. I pray that God's Word will go forth in every concert, and that the Holy Spirit would be present and go before us. That is the only reason why I am doing this tour. It is not for the money, or the fame. It is because God might use me in some way to reach someone that might not know him, or maybe someone who is struggling in their walk with him. I pray that I will be an encouragement to those that I meet. I don't care at all about portraying myself to be a 'Rock Star' and I have rejected that life style for many years now. For really all of that is just vanity, and it sets you up to be the one that gets the glory instead of God. I would rather be someone who is for God, than the one who is against him.

"I ask that those of you who know Christ would pray for us and our families while we are away. This will be a time when we will be under attack by the enemy. Those attacks usually come from within the family or they are aimed at our families. It is not a good thing for us to be separated from our families for such long periods of time. Wives need to be with their husbands, and children need their fathers. This will be a time when the enemy will work against us, and he would like nothing better than to see us destroyed in every way, so I ask that you will keep us in prayer. I have confidence in the Lord, and I believe in what his word says that no weapon formed against us will prosper.

"I pray that this be a time when the Lord does many great things. I pray that many lives will be changed. Time is so short. Christ is returning for his church. Never before has there been a time when Biblical prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes. It started May 14th, 1948, when in one day Israel became a nation just as it was prophesied would happen in the Bible. Christ also spoke of the last days saying that this generation would not pass away until all of these things prophesied were fulfilled. I believe that we are that last generation. Everything is set right there before us in the Bible of what will be happening soon, and yet the world is blind to it all. I hope that the Lord will use STRYPER to open some doors for the blind to have their eyes opened to the way of the Lord. "Blessings to you all, and Lord willing we will see you soon.

"In Christ, Tim Gaines"
