STRYPER Utilizing Session Drummer On New Album?

August 18, 2007

According to a posting on the StrypedForever unofficial STRYPER fan forum, Kenny Aronoff has been brought in as the session drummer for the Christian hard rock band's new studio album, which is currently being recorded for an early 2008 release. Kenny is not completely new to the STRYPER camp as he previously played on STRYPER vocalist (and current STRYPER drummer Robert Sweet's brother) Michael Sweet's solo album "Truth". Although there has been no official word on the matter, it appears that Robert Sweet is still in the band and will be on board for the upcoming tour. A formal announcement is expected sometime next week.

STRYPER's latest CD, "Reborn", is available on Big3 Records. "Reborn" marks STRYPER's first complete studio release of original material in over a decade, since 1990's "Against the Law", and features 10 original tracks as well a new version of the previously released track "In God We Trust". The album was recorded in Massachussetts at Blue Jay Studio, Mixed Emotions, and singer Michael Sweet's home studio.

Original STRYPER members Michael Sweet (lead vocals, guitar),Oz Fox (lead guitar),and Robert Sweet (drums) are joined in the group's current incarnation by bassist Tracy Ferrie.
