SUFFOCATION Cancel European Tour

May 25, 2006

Legendary New York death metallers SUFFOCATION have posted the following message on their official web site:

"SUFFOCATION regrets to announce that our scheduled European run for June 12th - July 2nd has been cancelled due to the inability of the booking agent to secure the dates needed to fulfill this tour. We apologize to the fans who may have purchased tickets in advance.

"On a more positive note, SUFFOCATION will be doing a three-week tour of Europe in August that is already confirmed and will be posted shortly.

"Regarding the new release you've all be waiting for, we are currently in the studio recording it and all is going as planned. We have hired the services of tattoo artist JonZig to complete the new album cover and the new SUFFOCATION symbol. We are thrilled with the results so far and guarantee you will be too."

SUFFOCATION will be touring the U.S. in November alongside FEAR FACTORY and DECAPITATED. A new album, simply entitled "Suffocation", will be issued in time for the upcoming trek. A DVD release is planned for late 2006/early 2007.

SUFFOCATION's latest CD, "Souls to Deny", was released in April 2004 through Relapse Records. The band's first full album of new material since 1995's "Pierced From Within" was recorded at New York's Full Force Studios with engineer Joe Cincotta and is "the cleanest, heaviest SUFFOCATION album to date," according to drummer Mike Smith.
