SUFFOCATION Comments On DISGORGE Bassist's Passing

Legendary death metallers SUFFOCATION have issued the following statement regarding the recent passing of DISGORGE bassist Ben Marlin:

"SUFFOCATION would like to share our condolences with DISGORGE and the Marlin family. Once again we've lost another brother in the death metal community prematurely. Ben Marlin, bassist of DISGORGE, passed away on January 2, 2008. SUFFOCATION will miss him greatly. We've toured and partied a great deal together. He was a true friend and supporter. Being in the genre and seeing so many of our close friends and musicians passing recently makes you realize that you can spend a lifetime fighting for death metal relevance and potential. He fought a hard battle, and definitely left his mark and impression on all those who knew him in the metal community."

Ben Marlin passed away on January 2, 2008 after nearly a year and a half of battling cancer.

DISGORGE released its fourth album, "Paralells of Infinite Torture", in May 2005 via Crash Music Inc. The band had previously released two albums through the Unique Leader label (1999's "She Lay Gutted" and 2001's "Consume the Forsaken") and a collection of demos through Extremities Productions (1999's "Cranial Impalement").
