SUFFOCATION Drummer Says Rumors Of European Tour With NAPALM DEATH Are False

September 1, 2006

SUFFOCATION drummer Mike Smith has issued the following statement:

"I just want to clear the ongoing rumor that there is a SUFFOCATION/NAPALM DEATH tour set for Europe. We have never spoken or been approached by any promoter regarding such a tour. In the past Mitch [Harris, NAPALM DEATH guitarist] had asked if we would be available to possibly do such a tour, which of course we would do if our schedule was free to do so; we are great fans of NAPALM DEATH and a tour with the both of us would destroy all. At that time I let it be known, however, that we were already booked to do a seven-week U.S. tour with FEAR FACTORY that is to take place during the same time frame. So, unfortunately, such a tour could not take place. We have no involvement with the false advertising that is being spread.

"If anyone knows the promoter who is spreading the fraud, feel free to BRING THE PAIN! to him if he has profited off of any of our fans from such advertisement."

SUFFOCATION's new, self-titled album is scheduled for release on September 19 in North America (September 25 internationally) via Relapse. The CD was recorded at Full Force Studios in Long Island, NY and features artwork from tattoo artist JonZig. Preview the artwork at this location.

Mike Smith commented on the new album: "We never feared our abilities what we fear is the ability of the industry to finally take the scene to the level it should be, in the forefront of all that is extreme. The kids are starving for music made from the heart."
