SUICIDAL TENDENCIES Singer Hurts Back, Undergoes Surgery

December 25, 2003

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES frontman Mike Muir has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

"First off we'd like to wish everyone Happy Holidays and a great New Year.

"We were real excited about the New Year too, but unfortunately things don't always go as you plan.

"Everyday the hospitals are full of people that wished they weren't there. This Christmas I will be one of those people. As a lot of you could tell the updates stopped...well usually there is a reason.

"The first show of the Eastpak Resistance Tour I hurt my back and I probably should have gone home, but I didn't want to let anyone or the tour down. It ended up being the hardest tour and most painful one I've ever done because of my back. I was able to finish the tour, but today [Tuesday, Dec. 23] I'm going back to the hospital to have surgery. I went to a neurosurgeon on Friday and after seeing my MRI, he said it couldn't wait. And quite frankly, after 6 weeks of pain, the last 10 days with my foot gone numb, I know that too.

"So, although we were looking forward to getting straight back into the STudio when we got home from tour, we have not been able to, and it will be a while before I'll be able to.

"Hopefully all will go well with the surgery and in 4 weeks when I start rehab, all will go well, and I'll be able to get back to the music asap.

"Thanx for all who care."
