SUICIDE SILENCE Shoots New Video

July 30, 2007

Riverside, CA-based quintet SUICIDE SILENCE has lined up an extremely busy fall touring schedule. The band kicks off off its worldwide touring cycle for its upcoming debut album, "The Cleansing" (due on September 18 via Century Media) by joining up with UNEARTH, DARKEST HOUR and AUGUST BURNS RED for a month-long U.S. trek beginning on September 28.

SUICIDE SILENCE shot a video for "The Price of Beauty" this past weekend with acclaimed director Matt Bass (THE ESOTERIC, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER). Mitch Lucker (vocals) states: "All I can say is that the treatment is pretty grotesque and we filmed in some very creepy locations. This was the first budgeted music video we'd ever done and we were very detailed in our approach."

"The Cleansing" was recorded with acclaimed producer John Travis (STATIC-X),while Tue Madsen (HIMSA, THE HAUNTED) handled mixing duties. The artwork was created by Dave McKean (Mirrormask, Sandman comics).

Regarding the album artwork, vocalist Mitch Lucker states, "From the very beginning, we wanted artwork that would separate ourselves from other bands and add some value to the purchase so fans would be less prone to simply download the record. Dave went above and beyond helping us achieve that as he created an entire layout that exceeded our expectations and further enhanced the album artistically."
