February 3, 2010

California deathcore masters SUICIDE SILENCE recently stopped by the studios of Fuel TV to perform two songs for "The Daily Habit". Watch the band tear through the tracks "Lifted" and "Wake Up" below.

"The Daily Habit" is Fuel TV's first original daily series, telecast weeknights at 9:00 p.m. ET (6:00 p.m. PT) and re-airing later in the evening at 12:00 a.m. ET (9:00 p.m. PT),and the following weekday at 2:30 p.m. ET (11:30 a.m. PT) and 5:30 p.m. ET (2:30 p.m. PT). "The Daily Habit" encompasses the world of the action sports enthusiast, mixing the best in pop culture with today's top action sports personalities, cutting-edge music, product reviews, and comedy.

In a January 2010 interview with Affliction Clothing's web channel "Affliction Vision", SUICIDE SILENCE vocalist Mitch Lucker stated about the band's early departure from MEGADETH's recent U.S. headlining tour, "I think the whole situation was funny. It's basic — [MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine] wanted our laminates back because we were getting people in, we were passing our laminates out. We were getting our friends in because we were only allowed, like, 10 people on the guest list. We were just doing that — getting people in — and he thought it was a risk to his dressing room, which it could have been; some superfan could have gone in there and done god knows what. And the situation went from that to him wanting our laminates back, and it was, like, the last day of tour. And we were just like, 'You know what? I like this [grabbing his pass]. Sorry.' And it turned out bad. But fuck it. It was still a fun tour."

SUICIDE SILENCE was a no-show on December 12, 2009 in Reno, Nevada, which served as the second-to-last stop on MEGADETH's tour. At the time, SUICIDE SILENCE drummer Alex Lopez posted a message on his Twitter page, stating, "Dave Mustaine kicked us off the MEGADETH tour [because] he wanted to take our laminates for a little incident [some] weeks ago, so we told him to fuck off." That Tweet has since been removed. SUICIDE SILENCE bassist Dan Kenny followed it up by writing on his own Twitter page. "I would love a fistfight with Dave Mustaine." Kenny, a mixed martial artists enthusiast, added, "I hear [Dave] is quite good at MMA; I would triangle him in a second!"
