SUPERJOINT RITUAL: Use Once And Destroy

April 2, 2002

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

PHILIP ANSELMO'S SUPERJOINT RITUAL UNLEASH MENACING DEBUT "USE ONCE AND DESTROY" THROUGH SANCTUARY RECORDS ON MAY 21ST!

Whenever New Orleans native Philip Anselmo commits to a venture, he does it in two fashions: viciously and to the extreme! From fronting the world-renowned Metal titan PANTERA to running his own underground Metal label Housecore Records, and emulating nature's dark side with his annual House Of Shock Horror Show extravaganza, Philip gives 110 percent of his blood and sweat into each project. His latest endeavor, the spine-crushing band SUPERJOINT RITUAL, is the gruesome crux of his musical passion.

SUPERJOINT RITUAL is comprised of Philip on guitar & vocals, Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD/C.O.C./DOWN) on guitar, Joe Fazzio on drums, and touring members, Kevin Bond, and III. Their debut album, Use Once And Destroy, will be released through Sanctuary Records on May 21st. Simultaneously spotlighting Philip's guitar talents and trademark acid-tongued vocal assault, the disc is a sonic demonstration of a NEW school in Heavy Rock - that which incorporates malevolent, abrasive Metal rumblings, gut-searing vocals and a sinister Punk edge.

"You're dealing with a bunch of f**king different emotions coming out of me," explains Anselmo. "The lyrical content is pretty f**king extreme on this record, and I think the music really calls for that. It sounds like a really violent car wreck."

Sanctuary Records President Tom Lipsky offers enthusiasm for the new project: "This is the most genuinely uncompromising, intensely powerful, blatantly direct full tilt start to finish music that I have heard in years. Strap on your seat belts and crank it up. SUPERJOINT RITUAL music is as hard as it gets, and this band, unlike so many others, is for real!"

Fans will not be required to wait until May 21st to sample what may surely invoke a new wave of frenzied Metal, however. Between April 16th - 23rd, two of the most brutal tracks from Use Once And Destroy will be streamed in their entirety at this web site: superjointritual.advancelisten.com. On May 24th, one of the tracks will be downloadable.

Look for a monster SUPERJOINT RITUAL tour this summer!
