SUSPERIA Drummer Forced To Sit Out European Tour
April 3, 2007Norwegian metallers SUSPERIA have suffered a major setback in the run-up to their forthcoming European tour with W.A.S.P. (set to begin later this month) and the subsequent U.K. dates with ONSLAUGHT. The band's drummer Tjodalv has broken his ankle in a freak accident and will have to sit out the dates.
According to an official press release, "the incident happened when [Tjodalv] slipped on a patch of ice whilst unloading his vehicle. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with an ankle break in two places, which required an emergency operation. Shattered and dejected Tjoldav is now at home recuperating, with strict orders to rest for at least five months until the breaks heal."
Despite this setback, SUSPERIA has confirmed that it will fulfil all its upcoming live commitments and has drafted in Anders Haave from BLOOD RED THRONE as a temporary replacement.
SUSPERIA's fourth studio album, "Cut from Stone", was released on April 2 in Norway and is due on April 9 in the rest of Europe via the Tabu label (a division of Tuba Records, Norway). It was recorded at Strand Studio, Oslo, Norway during 2006. The mix was completed by Daniel Bergstrand (IN FLAMES, MESHUGGAH, SOILWORK) at Dug-Out Studios in Uppsala, Sweden. Production was handled by SUSPERIA and Marius Strand.
