Sweden's HER WHISPER Changes Name To DISCONNECTED

April 7, 2009

Swedish dark symphonic metallers HER WHISPER have changed their name to DISCONNECTED. According to keyboardist Marcus Christensen, the band's new moniker "will not be as misleading as the old one is." He adds, "Apparently, nine out of ten people instinctively label us as a goth/emo band when they hear 'HER WHISPER' and that doesn´t go to well with the market we are aiming for. I can only guess how many gigs we may have missed because of unfairly biased opinions. No more of that now."

In other news, rhythm guitarist Christian Widén has left DISCONNECTED due to "a lack of interest." He will not be replaced.

HER WHISPER's last album, entitled "The Great Unifier", was released in February 2008 via STF Records. The CD features a guest appearance on one song by KING DIAMOND guitarist Mike Wead.
