Swedish Band SCAAR Signs With ALABAMA RECORDS

January 28, 2008

Alabama Records has announced the signing of the Swedish metal combo SCAAR for the release of the band's third CD, entitled "Next Level Of Torture".

Due on March 25, the follow-up to 2005's "The Second Incision", "Next Level Of Torture" was recorded at Dug-Out Productions in Uppsala, Sweden by Daniel Bergstrand, who has previously worked with IN FLAMES, BEHEMOTH, MESHUGGAH and STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, among others. The CD was mastered by Peter In de Betou for Tailor Maid Productions. Album artwork was created by Carl-André Beckston, who has designed artwork for such bands as TNT, HOUSE OF LORDS and BRAZEN ABBOT.

SCAAR was formed in Eskilstuna, Sweden, by guitarist Alf Johansson and singer Alex Jonsson in early 1999. Bass player Mats Vassfjord and drummer Richard Holmgren joined shortly thereafter to complete the lineup. All four members had been active in numerous bands in the Eskilstuna/Västerås-area for years, before joining forces to form SCAAR. During 2005 drummer Richard Holmgren was replaced by Kristian Huotari.
