SWORN ENEMY Prepare To Release New Album, Hit The Road With ANTHRAX
December 5, 2005Queens, New York-based SWORN ENEMY will release their Abacus Recordings debut, "The Beginning of the End", on January 24, 2006. The group's sophomore record, the new album was recorded at Big Fish Studios in San Diego with producer Tim Lambesis (AS I LAY DYING),engineer Steve Russell and mixer Zeuss (THE RED CHORD, SHADOWS FALL).
SWORN ENEMY released their "Negative Outlook" EP on Jamey Jasta's (HATEBREED, MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball") Stillborn Records before following it up with a full-length effort, "As Real As It Gets", on Elektra. Landing a coveted spot on the second stage of Ozzfest 2003 and with a loyal fan base in tow, SWORN ENEMY continued to pummel and destroy fans by relentless touring with acts such as SLAYER, SLIPKNOT, GOD FORBID, HATEBREED, UNEARTH, D.R.I., ARCH ENEMY, AMERICAN NIGHTMARE and many more.
Now, in their quest for delivering no frills, metallic hardcore, the band is more dedicated than ever. SWORN ENEMY redefined their heavy-hitting line up, signed to Abacus Recordings, and have delivered their best work ever — "The Beginning of the End".
"Our last album was totally rushed," stated SWORN ENEMY guitarist Lorenzo Antonucci. "Elektra threw us into the studio. We were still writing songs while tracking. 'The Beginning of the End' doesn't even compare with our last one. This record surpasses anything SWORN ENEMY has ever done with flying colors."
The band's mission is simple: "To set the tone for the new age of metal," said vocalist Sal Lococo. "This record signifies a new chapter for us as a band, a new style of music. . . We don't follow any trends. We play music from the heart."
SWORN ENEMY's crazed militia of die-hard fans will get to see the band soon enough as 2006 rolls out the red carpet of tours for the New York City outfit on a Tri-State Terror of a lineup with ANTHRAX and GOD FORBID. "ANTHRAX was my favorite band when I was 12 years old. I can remember jamming out to 'Among the Living' in my bedroom with a wiffle-ball bat as a guitar. To be able to tour with the [classic] lineup of ANTHRAX is like a dream come true," gushed Lorenzo. Sal reminisced, "I've known the guys in GOD FORBID for a long time. We go way back with them. They're a great bunch of guys."
