SWORN ENEMY Recording New Album 'Maniacal' With All-Star Cast

May 7, 2007

Taking their sound to raised levels of brutality, SWORN ENEMY are currently recording their new album that will be released this fall through Abacus Recordings.

Since SWORN ENEMY formed in 1997 they have represented New York hardcore well, having released two highly popular full lengths and touring the world countless times with bands such as SLIPKNOT, SLAYER, HATEBREED, SEPULTURA, UNEARTH, ARCH ENEMY, and more. SWORN ENEMY have played Ozzfest, guest-hosted MTV's "Headbanger's Ball" and become an established and loved band for pushing music past the trends and into a whole new age of metal.

SWORN ENEMY's unabashed talent and heavy-hitting rhythms have caught the attention of both Tim Lambesis (AS I LAY DYING) and Joey Z (LIFE OF AGONY),who are co-producing the band's new album, entitled "Maniacal". Lambesis and Z are both taking a very hands-on approach to this album, producing what is sure to be SWORN ENEMY's finest work to date.

"Maniacal" takes SWORN ENEMY to new heights with more of a thrash edge that has a fast bounce to it while relentlessly blasting the listener with thick heaviness that calls to mind a likeness to bands such as EXODUS and TESTAMENT as well as early MEGADETH and ANTHRAX. Frontman Sal Loco of SWORN ENEMY comments, "The new songs we have been working on so far in my personal opinion is some of the best shit we have done to date and they seem to keep gettin better. It has more of an aggressive feel to it with lots of thrash thrown in there!"

Adding to the all-star cast in support of this fantastic release, Jordan Mancino of AS I LAY DYING recorded all of the drum tracks for the full-length. As a fan and friend of the band, Jordan was excited to be a part of this project as the band is currently between drummers. Jordan recorded his tracks where he records for AS I LAY DYING at Big Fish Studios in San Diego, and did an amazing job that is going to add girth to this incredible album. Mixing duties will be handled by the up-and-coming producer Daniel Castleman (DESTROY THE RUNNER, WINDS OF PLAGUE). Artwork for "Maniacal" is going to be done by the notorious Monument Studios who are known for their work with bands such as LED ZEPPELIN, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, and CHIMAIRA, ensuring an eye-catching result!

SWORN ENEMY do not stay off the road for very long; immediately following the completion of "Maniacal" the band will be heading over to Europe for a month-long headlining tour. The tour includes appearances at major festivals such as Hellfest, Pressure Festival, and With Full Force.
